About

Macau, with the Zeiss Ikon Taxona

Clara Forest

Born in 1984.
Lives and works in Hong Kong.

I like doing portrait photography, live, on the streets, just for the purpose of meeting new beautiful people.

I mainly work with film cameras, preferably medium format. My favourite four are my really handy Yashica Mat 124G, my heavier but so good Kiev 88, my cute and tiny Zeiss Ikon Taxona and my Holga, light and easy to use.

Photography is a big part of my life for almost four years now. If I went out wandering in the streets and took at least one picture, then my day is a good day.

The city I live in inspires and fascinates me. I love Hong Kong’s contrasts, streets and people.

About the series

Dogs and their owners is a series of close portraits, of random people met in the streets with their dogs. Usually, people love to have their photo taken when walking their dogs, and you can see their pride when they show their pet.

A World Of Signs is a series of multiexposure-panoramic views of Hong Kong, focusing on colours and Chinese signs on the streets. The camera used for the series is the Zeiss Ikon Ikonta 520/2, an old folding 6×9 camera.
